Just a Harmless Little Heist....

Lezvie hides a smirk. His hair is the only part of him that reads completely human.

The lady drops the hair into a vial- she's checking to see if it's naturally that color, or if it's chemically bleached, or there is some other cause for it being white.

It's completely natural.

She frowns and holds out a device with a small hole in the top of it. "Put your finger in here."

He does so with his middle finger.

It pricks the tip of his finger, enough to drew blood. The lady then draws the machine back and checks the screen.

His DNA reads human, but with a few floating anomalies, inactive code, and a few bits of code removed to get rid of human imperfections.

She studies it, then addresses Jake in the same foreign language as earlier. Jake then directs Lezvie to get up and come with him.

Lezvie gets up and follows him.

Jake leads him to the door and tells him to turn around as he retrieves a pair of high-tech handcuff looking things from a bin next to the door.

He rolls his eyes.

Jake remains expressionless as he puts the cuffs around Lezvie's wrists and types in a code. The cuffs tighten, and his hands, from the wrists down, become unable to move. (I'm assuming he didn't put up a fuss. If he did, say so and I'll fix. XP)

He doesn't move.

Jake then leads him out of the room and back into the hall, to the room across the way, which happens to be an elevator. Jake types the destination into the pad, and the doors close.

Lezvie doesn't resist.

After a brief elevator ride, they step out into a completely different part of the facility. A few steps down the hall, Jake waves his hand in front of a sensor, and a door in the wall opens. This one leads to a short stretch of hall, still white walls and doors on either side. Jake opens a door and motions Lezvie into a small containment room. "You will stay here until further inspection."

Lezvie nods.

After locking Lezvie into the room (handcuffs and rope still on), Jake leaves. The rope was threaded through a just barely large enough hole in the door, and secured on the other side. There is enough slack for Lezvie to lay down on the bed next to the door, but not enough for him to reach the wall opposite the door.

He does so, disgruntled.

He's there for about an hour before a voice comes through on a hidden speaker. "Welcome, Guest 829. You are here because you have shown positive traits that require further research. You are a: Human male. From: Layer three. Planet: Earth. Language: English. Please confirm."

"That is correct. My name is Lezvie. I will no longer respond to 'Guest 829'."

"Confirmed. Your requested long term name is: Lezvie. This information has been filed. Is it your intention to be compliant with this testing?"

"I will comply if I can be assured the other two who came to this Layer with me will be treated well."

"Guests 830 and 831 will be treated as to their testing results. It is assured however, that your compliance will prevent certain mishaps from falling upon them." The speaker's tone carries a very, very slight threat in it, then resumes it's former monotone. "Do you intend to comply?"

"I intend to comply."
